Work Experience
NON-PROFIT CONSULTANT, 2001-present. Provide non-profit consulting services from overall organizational audits to assistance with fundraising, board retreats, strategic planning, financial management and board development for arts, human service, adapted sports, and medical non-profits.
INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANT, 10/2008-2020. Served as Project Direct with the National Ability Center for Department of State grants in Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, Vietnam, South Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and El Salvador 2015. Oversee all project aspects: grant writing, program implementation, budget management, compliance and reporting.
FUNDRAISING CONSULTANT & INTERIM EXCEUTIVE DIRECTOR, 2/2010-11/2010. Served as a fundraising and organizational management consultant after which in May 2010, began serving as the Interim Executive Director. After making numerous organizational changes which included a new planning strategy and staff changes, assisted in finding and hiring a new executive director, who is currently in the position.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER/FOUNDER, 10/85-9/2008, National Ability Center, Park City, Utah. Coordinate all aspects of year-round sports program for people with disabilities including staff management, fund-raising, marketing, activity programming and special events. Developed and built $8 million facility and outdoor exploration center.
OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC ADA MANAGER, 9/01-4/02, Salt Lake Organizing Committee, Salt Lake City, Utah. Coordinated and managed all aspects of ADA accessibility and compliance issues for the 2002 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Games. Assisted with the design of venues for ADA compliance.
LECTURE CONSULTANT & INSTRUCTOR, 12/89-2008, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. Present guest lectures on aspects of community based therapeutic recreation programs. Instructor for Leisure Behavior & Human Diversity course fall term 9/95-12/99.
REGIONAL ALPINE DIRECTOR, 11/90- 4/94, Special Olympics International, Washington, D.C. Supervise alpine skiing programs in six states including coaches training, alpine event design and implementation.
RACE COORDINATOR, 9/88-4/89, International Special Olympics Alpine Event, Squaw Valley, California. Planned and coordinated administrative and logistical aspects of the five day event.
CAMP DIRECTOR, Park City Day Camp, 5/85-9/87 (summer seasons), Park City Recreation Department, Park City, Utah. Supervised staff, directed, planned and implemented the recreation program.
