Dr. Jim Stray-Gundersen has been board certified in general surgery since 1985. Now Jim primarily focuses his work and research on maximizing human performance, health and resilience. He is a pioneer for the Hi-Low training protocol and is heavily involved in anti-doping test "SAFE". He has worked with numerous Olympians in various sports including renowned distance runner Alberto Salazar (coach and director of the NIKE Oregon Project). Jim completed post-doctoral fellowships in cardiovascular physiology and human nutrition at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He has served on the international medical committees that include the International Olympic Committee, FIFA, International Biathlon Committee, International Ski Federation, and the International Skating Union. Jim is also a sports science advisor for the US Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA). He runs the SG Performance Medicine Center and Sports Technologies for Maximal Athletic Performance, overall fitness, weight loss, and recovery in Park City, Utah. Finally, he is the chief medical officer of B STRONG, a Utah based company he co-founded in an effort to make blood flow restriction training safe, effective, and affordable for the general public.
