Kym is heading back to Haiti week after next until later in June. She is down there several times a year overseeing the operation of an orphanage Before the big earthquake several years ago, she was already involved in a mission supporting it. After the earthquake she was able to raise sizable funds to expand the operation. Her first encounter with the head of Voodoo there, at the risk of her life in her local associates opinion, and her later befriending him is a story all in itself -- as well as what has been and continues to be accomplished.
When Kym was 21 in 1978, she started the Resort Property Management Company and spent considerable time on the East Coast promoting Park City. The company grew handsomely and about 18 years ago, she and her husband, Dan, went public with the help of Smith Barney. I think Arthur Anderson helped with the accounting. The company name was changed to Resort Quest International which in turn was acquired by Gaylord Entertainment in Nashville. Gaylord eventually spun it off to Wyndham.
Besides all this, Kym sang with me in our church choir in the early 90s and she honored me not too long ago by letting me record via DVD her full life story for the benefit of her descendants and, possibly, for posterity.
